Late Vinod Khanna’s ex-wife Geetanjali passes away at 70
Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna’s mother and Vinod Khanna’s ex-wife Geetanjali Khanna passed away at 70. She breathed her last on Saturday night. She was suffering from heart ailment disease. She complained of uneasiness and breathed her last at her Alibaug residence.
"The two sons along with their mother keep visiting their farmhouse in Mandwa. Geetanjali and Akshaye came around 11 on Saturday morning. It was in the afternoon when she complained of uneasiness. She was taken to a local doctor, who prescribed her some medicines," a police source from Mandwa revealed.
After medication, Geetanjali went to sleep between 9 to 10 pm. When Akshaye checked on her, he found that her body temperature was very low.
A source added, “Akshaye called Rahul up and both of them, then, took her to the civil hospital, where she was declared brought dead."
On Sunday morning, after performing the postmortem
at the civil hospital, the body was handed over to the family. "It
appeared to be a natural death, but doctors have preserved the viscera to
ascertain the exact cause of demise," the official said.
"We recorded Rahul Khanna's statement and have not found
anything suspicious," she said.
Geetanjali's funeral took place today in the morning. Last year, Vinod Khanna had passed away after battling advanced stage of bladder cancer. Vinod Khanna got married to Geetanjali in 1971 and they officially got divorced in 1985 and then tied the knot with Kavita. Vinod Khanna and Kavita had two children, son Sakshi and daughter Shraddha together.
