Lata Mangeshkar still in hospital, condition stable

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai Breach Candy hospital at 2:30 am after she complained of breathing problems. But now she is stable, responding to treatment and recovering well.

“Lata didi suffered from a viral chest infection so we got her to the hospital. But now, she is on a path of recovery. Thank you for your concern,” Rachana Shah, the singer’s niece, said in a statement. “Keeping her age in mind, as a precautionary measure, she has checked in to Breach Candy Hospital in order to ensure antibiotics on time to prevent any more infection. She is stable and recovering,” another statement read.

Spotboye, spoke to Usha Mangeshkar, who updated about her sister’s health, "Lata Didi is 90. She is better and doctors were okay if we wanted to take her home today. But we ourselves told them that considering her age, it is better if we keep her in the hospital for 1 or 2 days more."

Added Ushaji, "She will be fine. She had developed viral fever and a stomach issue. Aajkal medicines aur technology achchi hai, so it works. But again, as I said she is 90, so we thought that it would be better that we don't treat her at home." 

A hospital representative also told India Today Television, "She was down with a little bit of chest viral infection. She is fine. She is definitely better since last night. And she will be absolutely fine in a matter of 3-4 days."

On September 28, Lata Mangeshkar turned 90.
