‘Laal Kaptaan’ trailer: Saif Ali Khan turns brutal Naga Sadhu

The trailer of ‘Laal Kaptaan’ was released and it showed Saif Ali Khan as ruthless Naga Sadhu. He will be seen in never-seen-before role.

The trailer begins with voice-over from Saif talking about the game of life and death. "Aadmi ke paida hote hi, kaal apne bhainse pe baith ke chal padhta hai use vaapis laane. Aadmi ki jindagi utni, jitna samay laga bhainse ko us tak pohonchne," he says as he covers himself in ash.

Saif is seen dragging a dead body tying behind his horse.

Saif’s look in 'Laal Kaptaan' has been compared with Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The actor said in an interview, “I can’t believe that I let the similarities with Jack Sparrow happen. Kiaan Raj (Karisma Kapoor’s son) and my son Ibrahim saw the photographs way before they were leaked, and their first reaction was, ‘Hey, that’s Jack Sparrow!’ The comparisons were made because of the jacket, the dreadlocks and some other elements. While filming, I never thought about it. If I did, I wouldn’t have done it. But, everything will make sense when you see the film.”

Talking about the physical transformation for 'Laal Kaptaan', Saif had said in an earlier interview, "I even got my ears pierced for the role, which I was worried about initially. My hair has grown a lot. It bothered me throughout summer, when I was shooting in Rajasthan's sweltering heat. It took me 40 minutes to two hours sometimes to just get into hair and make-up for the part."

He added, "My part in Laal Kaptaan is that of a person who is an animal at heart a flat-footed wild fellow."

Navdeep Singh of ‘NH10’ fame helmed ‘Laal Kaptaan. The director said, "Laal Kaptaan is that kind of film that is definitely going to generate a genre and narrative style of its own."

The film is slated to hit the screens on October 18.
