Konkona Sen Sharma has no desire for international films

Irrfan Khan and Tabu starrer film ‘Talvar’ earned laurels at its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and Busan International Film Festival. The film also stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi.

Irrfan has appeared in some English movies and so has Tabu, but their co-star in the film Konkona doesn’t show too much interest in doing films abroad. Konkona who was last seen in the biopic ‘Gour Hari Dastaan’, said she is not averse to the idea of being a part of Hollywood films, but it is not her priority.

"I have not done it (worked in films abroad) so far, and I have been working for over 13-14 years. I don't have any plans as such. To begin with, there is not a burning ambition to work in foreign projects and secondly if these things have to happen, they happen," the ‘Wake Up Sid’ actress Konkona told IANS.

Konkona was very happy to learn the rousing reception her upcoming film received at the internation film festival circuit. "I'm so happy to hear about the appreciation," she said.

The film directed by Megna Gulzar is based on the infamous Noida double murder case where Arushi Talwar and her family’s domestic help Hemraj were found murdered under mysterious circumstances.

Konkona and Neeraj play the roles of Arushi’s parents, while Irrfan plays the role of the investigative officer. Meghna’s father noted lyricist and poet Gulzar has penned the lyrics to which Vishal Bhradwaj has given the music.

The gritty investigative thriller ‘Talvar’ releasing on October 2.
