‘Kaun Banega Poonam Ka Hero’ attracts over 25,000 aspiring actors

Controversial model-actress Poonam pandey will have over 25,000 men locking horns to play hero opposite the actress in her next Bollywood venture ‘Helen’, which will start rolling in June.

A contest titled ‘Kaun Banega Poonam Ka Hero’ was organised to find a suitable male lead to be paired with Poonam, has attracted over 25,000 people.

The producer of ‘Helen’ Suresh Nakum said, “The kind of response the contest has received is nothing less than mighty pleasing for the team. In fact, I have never seen such kind of a response for any Bollywood movie before the film goes on the floors.”

The hunt for an actor required the contestants to make a two-minute audition video, during which they were free to enact a movie scene or dialogue of their choice to the best of their ability. More than 25,000 people have uploaded videos and audio clips to try and play the male lead opposite the former Kingfisher calendar model.

Poonam herself had invited entries through a video in which she says she is looking for a male lead to star opposite her.

‘Helen’ is produced by Nakum and Vipin Medhekar under the World Networks banner.

Poonam made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Nasha’ directed by Amit Saxena of ‘Jism’ fame. The actress, who also featured on the cover page of Gladrags fashion magazine, shot to fame after she promise to strip for the Indian cricket team if it won the 2011 world.
