Karisma-Sunjay divorce: Randir Kapoor says it's a closed chapter


Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur’s 13 years of troubled marriage finally come to an end. The family court in Bandra finally granted divorce to the estranged couple on June 13, 2016. The couple was got divorce on mutual consent. They have been fighting the bitter divorce battle for two long years as Karisma and Sunjay were unable to come to a conclusion over the alimony and the cutody of the children.

After talks, the divorce came smoothly. Karisma gets the custody of her two children-Samaira and Kiaan. the court grants visitation rights to Sunjay can spend two weekends a month in the city with his children. The kids will divide time between both parents during the vacations.

The Khat flat which belong to Sunjay’s father late Surinder Kapur, too has been transferred on Karisma's name.

Regarding alimony, a source adds, "Karisma will get Sunjay's father's house (in Khar) transferred in her name. Sunjay has to purchase bonds worth Rs 14 crore for the children, which will attract a monthly interest of around Rs 10 lakh."

Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor married in 2003 but few years after their wedding report of their troubled marriage cropped up. Sunjay was rumoured to be dating Priya Sachdev in Delhi, a socialite who is Vikram Chatwal’s ex-wife.

When contacted, Karisma's father Randhir Kapoor said, "I don't want to comment on this. It's a closed chapter for our family."

Randhir Kapoor was also involved in the ugly divorce battle of his daughter. He hits back at Sunjay when the latter made an allegation that Karisma married him for money. Replying to the allegation, the veteran actor said that the Kapoors do not need anyone's money. They have talent which can support them for the rest of their lives.
