Kareena’s family spent a whopping sum to protect Taimur from evil eye

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son Taimur has been the centre of attention ever since his birth, and his parents too are cool with it. However, they also seem to be wary of anything bad happening to their little munchkin.

Reportedly, Kareena and her entire family shelled off a whopping amount of Rs 51,000 to perform an extensive puja for the Pataudi scion to ward off evil spirits. In keeping with traditions, the family invited a group of transgender community, or kinnar community, to bless the new born, a report in Bollywood Life stated.

Considering the popularity of the little nawab with all eyes on him all the time, the ritual was absolutely important. It is a popular belief that the transgenders are blessed by God to fend off evil eye and the ritual is quite common in various parts of the country. While it may come across as superstitious, there is no harm following traditional customs. After all, it is only blessing a new born.

The portal also stated that Taimur also wears a black thread around his ankle.

While Taimur’s enjoys all the attention, mommy Kareena is gearing up for the shooting of ‘Veere Di Wedding’, her first film post childbirth. The movie which also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and debutante Shikha Talsania, is set to roll in August. On the other hand, daddy Saif will be next seen in ‘Chef’, an adaptation of 2014 eponymous Hollywood film, slated to hit screens on October 6.
