Kareena promotes ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ without Salman

The team of Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is gearing up for its release next month and have kick-started the movie’s promotions. After releasing the first song of the film ‘Selfie le le re’, the trailer launch is scheduled for tomorrow, June 18.

As Salman was busy shooting for an upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, the lead actress Kareena Kapoor Khan took it upon herself to promote the film. On Monday, the actress met a group of journalist and chatted with them about the film and her role in it, without her leading man beside her. The ‘Jab We Met’ actress also posed for a pre-photo shoot flaunting her coveted looks.

In ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Kareena plays the role of a Brahmin girl who falls in love with a Muslim boy, played by Salman. The film is an emotional drama that narrates their love story, simultaneously with Salman’s mission to take the mute child from Pakistan back to her country.

A romantic number in the film ‘Tu chahiye’ featuring Salman and Kareena enjoying a cycle ride was shot in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. The duo had been spotted around the streets of the national capital during the shooting of the film.

Although the ‘Dabangg’ star was not present during the press-interaction, his charm could be felt in the promotional activity of the film. The interactive session with press was cleverly timed just a couple of days ahead of the trailer launch of the film.

The actress turned up casually dressed in white sleeveless top and ripped denims, and teamed it with strappy designer heels. She kept her hair sleek and used minimal make-up.

The press meet may not have yielded anything like breaking news, but it has definitely enabled to increase the buzz surrounding the movie

According to Kareena her role in the film is integral and she has adequate footage. Her last film before ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was ‘Singham Returns’ opposite Ajay Devgn in August last year.

Kareena and Salman had co-starred in 2011 film ‘Bodygaurd’.

The Kabir Khan directed film, which also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is slated to release on Eid.
