Kareena Kapoor to play Aamir Khan’s love interest in ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’


After 3 Idiots (2009) and Talaash (2012), audience will again get to see the dynamic couple Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan romancing on the silver screen. The Jodi is again going to enthral the audience in the movie, ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’.

According to a report in Mid-day, Aamir Khan wants to cast Kareena Kapoor to play his lady love in the film.

Kareena Kapoor is currently in London for Irrfan's ‘Angrezi Medium’ shoot and will be back in India in August. In between, she will return to India next month for a short period for her TV debut.

A source close to the development told the tabloid, "The chemistry between the characters must be effortless. Aamir wants Kareena to play the part. She is in London till August, shooting for Angrezi Medium. She will make a pit stop in Mumbai next month for her TV commitments. The final call on the casting will be taken then.

"Lal Singh Chaddha which is the official adaptation of Tom Hanks' Forest Gump and is scheduled to go on floors in October.

The film will be directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame. Aamir Khan's production in collaboration with Viacom has bought the rights from Paramount.

At the media interaction, Aamir Khan said, "Uska naam hai Lal Singh Chadha. It's being made by Viacom and Aamir Khan Productions together. Iske director honge Advait Chandan, jinhone banayi thi Secret Superstar. Ek angrezi film ayi thi, Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, uska adaptation hai, we have bought the rights from Paramount."

Aamir Khan added that he has been trying to get the rights of Forrest Gump adaptation for the last 8 years. Lal Singh Chaddha will be shot in North India. "We are still on a recce for it, but it will be in India, Punjab, all the North side," Aamir revealed.

The perfectionist have t lose 20 kilos to potray the character and in on strict diet chart. He is currently on dal, sabji and roti and his dietician has briefed him about the diet chart.

During a book launch a few months ago, Aamir said, "I play a young man in the film, so I need to lose 20kg. I have already lost three and a half kilos in two weeks under the guidance of Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar."
