Karan to make homosexual film with SRK, Salman, Aamir?

Filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to make a film on homosexuality with the three Khan superstars of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

Speaking at the trailer launch of Manoj Bajpai starrer ‘Aligarh’, the 43-year-old director claimed that Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir will be happy to play homosexuals on the screen, according to a report in the Express Tribune.

‘Aligarh’ is based on the true story of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, a professor of Marathi at the Aligarh Muslim University, who was sacked from his job on charges of homosexuality. Manoj Bajpai plays the role of the professor while Rajkumar Rao plays a journalist who tries to brings forth the story to the world.

When asked whether the Khan trio will have the same comfort level to portray gay characters as that of Manoj Bajpai, Karan said that it mainly depends on the script, if it is good and poignant, they wouldn't mind playing such roles.

Karan had himself opened up on the challenges he faced as an effeminate child on the first day of the recently concluded Jaipur Literature Festival. He said that other children used to call him ‘pansy’ and he used to have sleepless nights over the fact that he was different from other children.

He has also addressed the issue in his films like ‘Dostana’ and short film ‘Aajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh’ of anthology film ‘Bombay Talkies’.

Meanwhile, Karan's directorial 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma is slated to release on Diwali this year.
