Karan Johar hugs and kisses Varun Dhawan

It’s a proud moment for producer and mentor Karan Johar. Varun Dawan’s last flick, ‘Badlapur’ stikes gold at the box-office and wishes are pouring from every corner for Varun’s stupendous performance. Varun who debuted with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the year’ has made his mentor and filmmaker proud of his acting skill. Karan at the success bash of ‘Badlapur’ kissed and hugged Varun.

In fact before the movie’s release, Karan took to microblogging website Twitter and posted, “#Badlapur is absolutely stunning! @Varun_dvn made me so so proud! He is exceptional!!! And it's doesn't get better than nawaz!! Must watch!!”

He later tweeted, “Thrilled to bits to see the media reaction of #BADLAPUR...go watch our best psychological thriller [email protected]_dvn @humasqureshi.”

Varun also starred in Karan Johar’s ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. At the success bash, Karan gave Varun a warm hug in the attendance of other guests and also kissed him on his forehead.

In fact, Varun father and director David Dhawan is also full of praise for his son. David, who directed his son in ‘Main Tera Hero’, said he is proud of his son.

”Today is a great day for me. I have seen so much of success till now but this success is at par and special for me”.

“I think I am one of the happiest fathers in the world,” he added. David at the ‘Badlapur’ success bash said that he is happy that his son’s hard work in the dark and intense revenge drama ‘Badlapur’ has paid off. “Obviously he (Varun Dhawan) is my son but I think he has taken a very strong step to do a film like that. He has worked very hard on this film and it is evident also,” the director said. It was his own decision to do this film,” he added.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Badlapur’ features Varun Dhawan in an aggressive and avatar while Nawazuddin Siddhiqui plays the antagonist. The film also stars Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Radhika Apte.
