Karan Johar: Kajol doesn’t deserve my friendship

Karan Johar and Kajol have been best buddies for a long time. She was the leading lady of Karan’s debut directorial ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, and has also starred in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, and also had a special appearance in a song in ‘Student of the Year’.

But their friendship fell apart following the infamous controversy surrounding Karan’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’. Kajol’s husband had accused the Dharma Productions honcho of bribing self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan to praise ‘ADHM’ and criticise ‘Shivaay’. In fact, Ajay had himself told media that Kajol and Karan Johar were no longer on talking terms because of a deeply personal reason.

Now, Karan has opened up about his rift with Kajol and spoken in depth about the current status of their relationship. In his biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, the excerpts of which are doing the rounds online, Karan has clearly stated that he does consider Kajol a friend anymore.

A Twitter handle @friends_rachel6 has released several screenshots of pages from the yet-to-release biography, in which Karan reveals how he felt betrayed by Kajol.

“It’s over. And she can never come back to my life. I don’t think she wants to either. She was the one who mattered to me but now it’s over.…I wouldn’t like to give a piece of myself to her at all because she’s killed every bit of emotion I had for her for twenty-five years. I don’t think she deserves me. I feel nothing for her anymore,” the excerpts read.

Karan further said that it hurt him to know that Kajol could believe that he could bribe someone to sabotage her husband’s film.
