Karan Johar gives ‘Yaada Teriyaan’ song to ‘Hero’

The new heartbreak song ‘Yaada Teriyaan’ of the upcoming film ‘Hero’ starring newbies Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty originally belonged to Karan Johar.

The makers of the film wanted a slow track to express the longing for lost love and passion, but somehow, they could not come up with any suitable number. Karan who had this song ‘Yaada Teriyaan’ thought it would suit the purpose, and gave it away for ‘Hero’, according to a DNA report.

The song is beautifully rendered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to the lyrics penned by Kumaar.

"We were looking high and low for a slow separation song but weren't finding it. A couple of months ago Nikhil (‘Hero’ director Nikhil Advani) and I were talking about it in Karan's office. That's when Karan said he had a song which he wouldn't be using in the immediate use and offered it to us. He asked us to listen to it. When we heard we fell in love with it. And when Salman heard it he recommended that we get Rahat Fateh Ali to sing it," the report quoted Amar Butala, CCO, Salman Khan Films as saying.

Salman Khan, who is producing the film took to Twitter on Thursday, August 20, to release the song with is video.

“Mere Heroes @soorajpancholi9 and @theathiyashetty in the heartbreak song of the year. http://bit.ly/YadaanTeriyaan  #YadaanTeriyaanOutNow,” he posted.

The song which plays in the background captures the agony of love when Sooraj is imprisoned and Athiya is separated from her lover. Parts of the song has been shot in Romania.
