Karan is the most beautiful boy, SRK at KJo’s book launch
Karan Johar’s biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, in which the filmmaker has revealed his deepest and darkest secrets, was launched by his best buddy Shah Rukh Khan on Monday evening in Mumbai. The event was also attended by Alia Bhatt and her rumoured lover Siddharth Malhotra, who debuted with Karan’s directorial ‘Student of the Year’.
‘An Unsuitable Boy’ has been jointly penned by Karan and Poonam Saxena, and has been released under Penguin Random House India. Popular columnist and best-selling author Shobha De interviewed him and Karan candidly replied to the questions she posed.
When asked why India is obsessed by his sexuality, Karan answered, “People don't have final answers so they browse around the topic always. I've said what I wanted to in the book. I have nothing more to add to it.” He also shared an incident when a man at the airport tapped him on his shoulder and asked “Are you homo?" to which he replied, "Why are you interested?"
About his friend Shah Rukh, Karan said, "When I saw him (Shah Rukh) give my father (Yash Johar) so much love, I fell in love with him. There are ups and down in so many relationships. But with SRK there is deep love and respect I have for him. Ours will be a dynamic connect that will stay forever. My love for his family is so constant. My love for him and his work is beyond words. We have our down days and humongous high days. Will not get diminished!"
When Shah Rukh’s turn came, the actor had the nicest things to say. Karan is the only person apart from my family who understands me. I have seen him being sensitive towards everybody. He is an extremely gifted sensitive person. He is a brave boy- he is different,” the ‘Dilwale’ actor said.
King Khan also said that Karan was the most beautiful boy in the world for him. He said, “To me, Karan Johar will always remain the most beautiful boy…I truly believe my kids, my wife and I have truly arrived because we have one full chapter in your book, Karan.”
In the book, Karan has opened up about his sexuality and rift with his long-time friend Kajol, among other things.
