Kapil Sharma slaps 100 crore defamation case against a journalist


Ace comedian Kapil Sharma has sent legal notice to ‘Spotboye’ journalist Vicky Lalwani for allegedly publishing defamatory articles against him. Kapil seeks public apology as well as 100 crore as damage.

Sharma claimed that Vicky Lalwani, working with 9X Media Pvt. Ltd, allegedly published “false, malicious, fraudulent articles” on the entertainment portal ‘Spotboye’.

“In view of the articles by Lalwani on Spotboye to willfully defame my client, we have sent them a legal notice to publicly apologise within seven days failing which we will institute civil and criminal proceedings against both,” Sharma’s advocate Tanveer Nizam said in a statement.

The notice claimed damages “to the tune of Rs One Hundred Crore to be deposited in National Defence Fund”.

Not only this Sharma has also demanded the journalist an “unconditional public apology” within seven days of receiving the notice.
