Kapil Sharma gets extra security cover for his TV show
Popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma, who recently raised allegations of corruption against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Twitter, has been given extra security cover.
Security was beefed up in and around Film City, particularly around the stage where the comedian-actor shoots for his show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. The team was preparing to shoot with Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri who are promoting their upcoming film ‘Banjo’, but the onlookers were taken aback at the stringent security.
Quoting an eyewitness, a report in The Times of India stated, “There is extremely tight security right from the entrance of Film City all the way up to the stage where the shot is happening. Every passer-by has been asked to show their identification proofs and no one other than the most crucial members from the unit is allowed inside. Identification bands have been given to people who have come as the audience on the show. So much so that even boarding a taxi outside the premises of the studio is a hassle.”
All this was because Shiv Sena leaders have threatened Kapil. After the comedian tweeted about the civic body demanding a bribe of Rs. five lakhs from him for construction of his office, Sena leaders called out to Kapil to file a case against the alleged culprit who demanded bribe. They also sought an apology from him for keeping mum on the allegations and said that they won’t let him shoot until he apologizes, according to a report in ABP Live.
