Kangana to be show-stopper at India Couture Week

After charming audiences on the screen in ‘Queen’ and ‘Revolver Rani’, Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is now ready to take on another role that she plays very well. She is counted among the most fashionable female stars in Bollywood and it was proved once again when it was announced that Kangana Ranaut will be appearing at the upcoming fashion event, India Couture Week 2014. The famous event has been sponsored by Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers.  Kangana will be on the ramp for veteran fashion designer Anju Modi. She was chosen because of the unique mix of modernity and old world charm that she brings to the table.

The event will go on for six-days, starting from 15th July. The venue for this year is the famous Taj Palace Hotel. Anju Modi is schedule to showcase her creations on day two. This year she is going to showcase a collection entitled ‘Manikarnika’. The collection will be depicting a woman from the past eras, reborn in the present time.  While talking to the media, the designer explained that Kangana was chosen to be the show stopper for the collection because her similarities with the theme. Anju Modi said, “The underlying sense of old world charm that engulfs Kangana made her the perfect choice for me, especially with the theme of my collection Manikarnika, being about reincarnation and a re-visitation of our cultural and design heritage.” The designer also praised Kangana and said, “Kangana Ranaut is a fashion icon, who has transformed herself with every character she plays on screen, and every look she dresses in off screen. She is one of the few actors who carries herself effortlessly and with utmost grace…She personifies the woman of today, which is a central thought that translates through our efforts to contemporise ancient techniques. I'm most excited to see her close my show this year at the India Couture Week.”

Kangana regularly finds herself in lists of most stylish/ fashionable celebs.   In the year 2012, she was named "Best Dressed Personality" by the Indian edition of the famous People Magazine. The following year, in 2013, noted fashion magazine Vogue India named her as one of the country’s best-dressed women celebrities.  But what sets her apart is the fact that she is not just a pretty face. She has also proven herself to be one of the best female actors in recent times with performances in films like, ‘Gangster’ ‘Fashion’, ‘Krrish 3’ and ‘Queen’.
