Kangana Ranaut miffed with comedian Sugandha for mimicking her

Kangana Ranaut is currently on a promotional spree to promote her upcoming film ‘Rangoon’. Recently, the actress, along with co-star Shahid Kapoor visited the sets of talent-hunt show ‘The Voice India Kids 2’ to promote the film. While the duo enjoyed their time with the kids, Kangana was reportedly upset with one of the show’s host Sugandha Mishra, who is also an established singer and comedienne.

Kangana was miffed with Sugandha after she impersonated the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress, but it didn’t go down well with the two-time National Award winning actress. Kangana was so outraged that she gave a cold shoulder to Sugandha till the end of the show, according to a popular wire service.

It happened so, that singer-composer Salim Merchant and Shaan, who are coaches on the show, asked Sugandha to mimic Kangana in front of her. But when the host showed off her mimicry skills, Kangana was offended and commented, “I feel like slapping her.”

“It was a nail biting moment after Kangana’s shocking statement. It surely was an awkward moment for Sugandha, but she took it in a sporting spirit and continued with the shoot,” an IANS report quoted a source as saying.

Kangana is known for her outspokenness, and doesn’t take things lying down, but looks like she also can’t take mimicry and jokes in her stride.

Kangana will be seen in the role of a film star named Julia, while Shahid plays a soldier Nawab Malik in ‘Rangoon’. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as a filmmaker named Rustom Rusi Billimoria, and the movie is a love triangle of the three characters, set in the backdrop of World War II.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is set to hit screens on February 24.
