Kangana Ranaut hospitalised, hit by sword during ‘Manikarnika’ shoot

Kanagana Ranaut, who is currently busy shooting for the periodic drama, ‘Manikarnika’ was badly hit by a sword during the shooting and she was immediately rushed to hospital.

It all happened when Kangana was shooting a sword-fighting scene with her co-star Nihar Pandya. During fighting, Kangana failed to assess the right timing and she could not escape from Nihar’s attack and his sword hit Kangana’s head and it started bleeding profusely.

The actress was immediately rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad.

She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.”

The producer of the film Kamal Jain clarified that Kangana refused to use body double for the scene and had practiced for the scene several times. Kamal explained, “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him.”

Scar mark will be left on the actress, according to the examining doctor. However, Kangana decided to flaunt her scar in the film. "Rani of Jhansi was a warrior. So Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did," a source said.
