Kamal Haasan takes a dig at Aamir Khan at Bigg Boss Tamil launch

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is making his foray into television as the host of Tamil version of popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. The ‘Vishwaroopam’ actor today (May 26) formally launched the show at a press meet, where he took a dig at Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

Speaking at the event, Kamal Haasan said he is more socially responsible that Aamir Khan, who hosts ‘Satyamev Jayate’, a show that highlights social relevant issues.

When Kamal Haasan was asked why he preferred to host ‘Bigg Boss’ instead of a show like ‘Satyamev Jayate’, the actor was quick to respond and said, “I have been more socially responsible for long than the person who hosted ‘Satyamev Jayate’.”

‘Satyamev Jayate’ hosted by Aamir Khan is a talk show that highlights, discusses and provides probable solutions to sensitive issues plaguing the society, ranging from honour killings, rape, domestic violence, child sexual abuse, female infanticide and foeticide, healthcare and hygiene, alcoholism etc. It also presents the efforts and achievements of common people who try to bring about a change by ridding the social evils.

Coming to ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’, 14 celebrities will be participating in the maiden season of the reality show. The lavish house where the contestants will be locked in for 100 days, has been set up on a budget of Rs one crore in Chennai. The house is said to be bigger than the Lonavala one, used for the Hindi version of the show.

‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ will be aired between 9 pm and 10 pm on Vijay TV, and the weekend special shows will be kick-started by Kamal Haasan at 8.30 pm.
