Kamal Haasan has a narrow escape after fire breaks out at his house

Veteran Tamil actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan had a narrow escape after a fire broke out at his residence on Friday night. The actor’s staff helped him to climb down the stairs from the third floor of his building to safety. No one was hurt in the incident.

The 62-year-old actor took to Twitter to inform his fans and well-wishers about his well-being in the wee hours of Saturday. He wrote, “Thanks to my staff. Escaped a fire at my house. Lungs full of smoke, I climbed down from the third floor. I am safe, no one hurt.”

In a subsequent tweet, he thanked everyone for their love and concern. “Thanks for all the love and concern. Now off to sleep. Good night indeed,” he posted with a smiley.

Kamal Haasan recently lost his elder brother Chandra Haasan, a producer, who passed away in London after a cardiac arrest last month. After his brother’s demise, the actor had tweeted, ““He (Chandrahasan) was a friend. A good teacher. He was not just my brother but he was also like my father. Because of him, I managed to succeed in my life. I did not even fulfill half of the dreams he saw for me.” The ‘Vishwaroopam’ actor has two brothers – Chandra Haasan and Charu Haasan, and shared a great bond with both of them.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan’s trilingual film ‘Sabaash Naidu’ has been put on hold for the time being. The film also stars his daughter Shruti Haasan, while his younger daughter Akshara Haasan is an assistant director. He will also be seen in ‘Vishwaroopam II’ which is slated to release later this year.
