Watch: Kalki Koechlin’s anti-rape video goes viral

'It's Your Fault', an anti-rape video by Kalki Koechlin went viral on net. The video is filmed in a sarcastic way depicting the stereotypical social mindset which always blames the victim for sexual assault. The video features Kalki Koechlin and Juhi Pande telling women how people blame them for their dress-up. They are targeted for their revealing clothes. The video went viral on net and attracted the attention of international media like Huffington Post, Aljazeera and many foreign bloggers.

Rohan, from the popular Mumbai-based group, said, "It's not what you would expect from a group of four funny guys, and that's just the point. Nothing at all, no part of this, is funny, and therefore we approached it in a different way. The response has been amazing, from the moment we posted the video till now. It is something that every person we know relates to and feels strongly about."

Said Juhi, "We knew when we were shooting the video that it would get a lot of reactions. Eyebrows would be raised and there would be a lot of discussion. We've all had these discussions in our social groups and have all felt angry and frustrated at these statements that have made headlines. Yes, this video will only reach the English-speaking, 'sarcasm-understanding' young person, but at least it's out there. It's a drop in the ocean, but it is still a drop and I am glad to be have been a part of it."

As politician targeted  chowmein and mobile phones for rape and how girls are blamed for their dress-up and how the girls addressed the attacker  'bhaiya' to avert rape is also shown in the video. At the end, it shows woman from different walks of life  from different age groups saying the words 'It's my fault'.

Posted on September 19, the video already received over 7 lakh hits on YouTube.

The video starts with Kalki Koechlin who says "Ladies, do you think rape is something men do out of a desire for control empowered by years of patriarchy. You clearly been mislead by the notion that women are people too, because let's face it ladies. Rape, It's your Fault."

The four people who have come up with the video are Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya.

The group on YouTube said, "Every sexual assault case in India inspires a string of stupid and hateful remarks against women. This is our
to those remarks."
