‘Kalank’: Alia Bhatt looks breathtakingly beautiful as Roop


Dharma productions continue to release ‘Kalank’ poster. A new poster of Alia Bhatt was released and she looked breathtakingly beautiful in the role of a bride. “A character unlike any other I’ve played! Presenting Roop!” Alia shared her poster.

Alia is dressed in a bride and she wore red attire with veil and wore exquisite jewellery. Madhuri wrote about Alia’s Roop, “She’s full of life and has a heart of gold,” while Sonakshi added, “Free, bound only by love! This is Roop!”

Producer Karan Johar took to social media to share the first look from Kalank. He wrote, "A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional about this one...I do hope you join us on our path to undying love.."

Earlier yesterday, Varun wrote on Twitter, "Breaking. Alia to handle marketing!" Alia responded, "Hahaha, I've learnt from the best!" 

Karan Johar wrote a surprised tweet, "Sorry??? How come I don’t about this!!!?? We have a team which is all set with a plan!!!!"

Karan Johar's father, the late Yash Johar, was supposed to direct ‘Kalank’. "I am now proud to pass it on to the extremely capable and visionary hands of director Abhishek Varman. Kalank has a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek," Kjo said in a statement.

Another picture showed Varun Dhawan looked fierce. He donned a beard with kohled eyes.

"Presenting Varun Dhawan as Zafar! He flirts with life and danger." His intense look will surely keep you hooked. Of his character, the actor tweeted, "It's been a hell of a journey playing this gem of a character. So guys, meet Zafar!" 

‘Kalank’ is scheduled to hit theatres on April 19.
