Kajol’s next film is written by ‘Ship of Theseus’ maker Anand Gandhi
Actress Kajol will be next in the big screen adaptation of a play by Anand Ghandi, who debuted as a director with the National Award winning film ‘Ship of Theseus’. Anand has written the screenplay for the upcoming film, which will be produced by Ajay Devgn.
Anand is very much excited for the upcoming project and can’t wait for the film to go on floors. “It has been great collaborating with Ajay on the movie. I am glad that a play I did many years ago has now been chosen to be made into a movie. I am excited about the fact that it will feature Kajol,” PTI quoted Anand as saying.
Kajol made a comeback of sorts after a gap of five years with Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer film ‘Dilwale’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Before that, she did feature in a song in her filmmaker friend Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Student of the Year’.
Anand has written and directed several critically acclaimed plays and popular TV shows and short films. He is currently awaiting the release of his ‘An Insignifanct Man’, which chronicles the birth of Aam Aadmi Party and the rise of its leader Arvind Kejriwal.
The movie, which marks the directorail debut of Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla, has earned acclaim at various festivals across the globe including Toronto International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Fest.
“It is always special when your home audience receives the movie well. So many people have liked the movie and we can’t wait for its theatrical release,” Anand said.
