Kajol, Shahrukh celebrate 1000 weeks of DDLJ with a kiss


Kajol smooches King Khan. Wait, what? Oh no, this is no outrageous news! It was just a cute little kiss, and SRK kissed her back too. If you are wondering what the special occasion was? It was the celebration of the Adtiya Chopra directed ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge completing its 1000 weeks of screening. The special screening of the longest running film in Indian filmdom was held at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai. This film had been running at Maratha Mandir Since the day it was first released, and that too with houseful shows every single day.

Kajol had bruised her leg, but she was drawn by the significance of the event, and managed with a walking stick. Humorous SRK made a mockery of it – taking her walking stick and acting as if he were playing the mandolin- as he was seen in DDLJ. Totally in fun mood, he knelt down while Kajol shyly stood behind him, gracefully smiling at the throng. SRK shared some fond old memories from the shooting of DDLJ and Kajol expressed her admiration for King Khan’s cute dimples, eyes and his eight pack abs.

Pretty Kajol was clad in an all black lace gown with designer sleeves, while SRK looked stunningly handsome in a black suit with a maroon tie. To bring back fond memories, SRK impressed his fans with his DDLJ trademark pose. To add to the fun, he filled the ambience with his classic romance by singing the all time hit ‘Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam’. Undit Narayan, who had sung the famous song, was also present with the music director Jatin Pandit.

Both the actors chose to spend the first half of this special day at Yash Raj Films studio, interacting with their fans from all over the globe through a live chat. One crazy fan form Mumbai impersonated as SRK’s character Raj form the movie- wearing a black hat, goggles and a sporty jacket; the look was complete with a bag on his shoulders. He stated that he had watched the blockbuster several times at Maratha Mandir and was extremely glad to attend this exceptional day.

When the show began at 11:30 am, the theatre was filled with the vibrancy of the audience- applauding at their favorite scenes , hooting and cheering while repeating the legendary dialogues-  "Bade bade deshon mei aise choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai." But the excitement reached its zenith when the audience finally got to see their favorite track 'Tujhe Dekha toh yeh jaana Sanam'!
