Kader Khan passes away in Canada at 81

2019 starts with a sad news. Veteran actor Kader Khan, who was battling for life in a hospital in Canada, breathed his last. He was unwell for a long time. Post his knee surgery in Mumbai, Kader Khan moved to his son Sarfaraz’s house in Canada. His wife and younger son stayed in India.

The actor was on a BiPAP ventilator. For a long time, he has residing with his son Sarfaraz and daughter-in-law Shahista abroad and has been admitted to an overseas hospital. The actor was suffering from breathlessness. His condition turned so serious that doctors had to put him on a BiPAP ventilator instead of a normal one. 

His son Sarfaraz earlier informed about his dad’ health. He said that Kader Khan once underwent a knee operation but he did not make effort to walk and from then, the thespian almost confined to bed.

In an old interview with the said entertainment portal, his son has been quoted as saying, "The surgery did not go wrong. It was just that my father refused to get up after the surgery. We were told that he has to make an effort and try to start walking from the next day. He just didn't do that and..."

Kader Khan is an well known Bollywood actor and worked in a multiple blockbuster movies including Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Lucky, Fun2shh, Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Akhiyon Se Goli Maare, Joru Ka Ghulam, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Anari No. 1, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Aunty No. 1, Benarasi Babu, Judaai and Judwaa among others. 

"Writing was his only passion if and when he got time, You would see him in lonely corners even on hectic schedules jotting down dialogues " says a close friend of Khan.

In few hours, he will be cremated according to Muslim rituals in Canada.              

"Hardly anybody from the industry barring few were in touch with Sarfraz checking on Khan's failing health all these years. But then that is life," adds the source.
