Juhi Chawla completes 25 years in Bollywood

Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla, who debuted in Bollywood 25 years ago with 'Sultanat' (1986) but received wider recognition with ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ is celebrating silver jubilee in Bollywood. Juhi described her Bollywood journey as ‘wonderfully long’.

Juhi said that she never imagined she'll have such a long innings in Bollywood.

Talking to IANS, Juhi said, "My journey has been wonderfully long. And today, I am amazed that I am still around, relevant and visible, which I never even imagined 25 years ago. I just had no clue that I would be around for so long. I am really grateful and happy for this. So overall, my journey has been very eventful, and I am very glad that I have been in the industry. I mean, once one has worked here, the highs, the lows, laughter, tears, insecurities, selfishness, fame, adulation, heartache, hard work, and everything has been simply fantastic. It has all been a great lesson in life," said the actress.

Juhi is a multitasked woman, she aptly managed her film commitments, and business endeavours and above all takes care of her family.

"Well, sometimes it's been a little overwhelming, but now I make sure to just take one thing at a time. I try not to overcrowd my whole schedule. So that's why I pick and choose what I do," she added.

Juhi, who was last seen in 'Gulab Ganag' with Madhuri Dixit is not planning to celebrate her long innings with her Bollywood pals as she feels she has more years to go in Bollywood.

Juhi said that she grew up watching Nassir Hussain's movie but at that time no one knew Aamir Khan, her co-star of QSQT

Adding further she said, “I grew up watching Nassir Hussain’s films and was happy that he signed me but when I asked to people they suggested me that she is working with someone who had three flop films earlier.

“They also asked who is the hero of the film as nobody knew Aamir Khan. But I signed the film and got selected after my screen-test and see where I am now.”

Married to businessman Jay Mehta, Juhi has two children, Jhanvi and Arjun.
