Journalist accuses Rajat Kapoor of sexual misconduct, actor issues apology

The #MeToo movement has shaped very strongly in India. Now latest in the row to be accused of sexual misconduct is actor Rajat Kapoor. It is alleged that the actor misbehaved with a woman journalist named Sandhya Memon during a telephonic interview way back in 2007.

Not one or two but Rajat Kapoor has been accused of behaving inappropriately with three women in three different situations. It created a huge uproar on social media after Menon posted screenshots of her conversations with Kapoor.

The actor asked questions to Sandhya Menon like 'Are you as sexy as you sound?' He also inquired about her body measurements.

Another woman narrated the incident where the actor-turned-filmmaker would continuously kept calling her for a film's shoot and asked her if she knew an empty house where he can shoot with her. The woman claimed that Rajat Kapoor wanted to shoot for a film with her in a vacant house.

However, after Rajat Kapoor was exposed, he immediately took to his social media account to apologize all for his misbehaviour.

He wrote, "All my life I have tried to be a decent man, to do the right thing. If however, I have slipped and through my actions or words caused pain or hurt or trauma to absolutely anybody, please accept my apology."

He added, "I am sorry from the bottom of my heart- and sad that I was the cause of this hurt to another human being. If there is one thing more important to me than even my work, it is to be a good human being. And I have tried to be that person. And now, I will try harder."
