‘Jolly LLB 2’ 2nd trailer: Akshay fights against corrupt & powerful
The makers of ‘Jolly LLB 2’, starring Akshay Kumar, released a new trailer of the film on Monday, January 23. The first trailer which released a month ago, showed Akshay’s goofy side as a lawyer, who is a “schemer and dreamer.” The new trailer shows his character, Jagdishwar Mishra aka Jolly, in a serious mode, rising ‘against the corrupt and powerful’.
The trailer opens with Akshay saying that a nation with 125 crore population has only 21,000 judges, and 3.5 crore cases are still pending. Still, people have hope in the country’s judicial system and approach courts for justice. The trailer mentions that ‘law is not blind’.
Huma Qureshi, who plays Jolly’s love interest Pushpa Pandey, motivates him to fight for justice. In the courtroom, Jolly is pitted against much experienced and corrupt lawyer Mr Mathur, played by Anu Kapoor, and he is seen pleading him to at least show some regard for the nation, whose system is becoming hollow.
‘Jolly LLB 2’ is said to be inspired by true events. The movie is the second instalment of 2013 National Award winning courtroom comedy-satire ‘Jolly LLB’, and reprises the character of Saurabh Shukla, who plays a judge. It has been directed by Subhash Kapoor, who had also helmed by first part of the film.
‘Jolly LLB 2’ is slated to hit screens on February 10, 2017.
