John Abraham to star in MS Dhoni biopic

Bollywood’s handsome hunk John Abraham will be starring in Neeraj Pandey’s biopic on India’s most successful cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The ‘Jism’ actor wold be doing a cameo in the upcoming film titled ‘‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, according to a report in a leading tabloid.

The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the eponymous role while Kiara Advani will play the role of the cricketer’s wife Sakshi Dhoni. “I am glad a film is being made on Mahi’s life. I respect the vision of the director and I’m sure Sushant (Singh Rajput) will be fantastic,” Mumbai Mirror quoted John as saying.

John who has been great friends with Dhoni for over a decade added, “Mahi is strong and resilient. When a film of mine gets a poor opening, he smiles and tells me that I’ve had a bad year but the next one will be better. He knows how to receive the brickbats with the bouquets. He’s one of the most balanced guys I know.”

John and Dhoni share an amazing bond and spent some time together earlier this year when the cricketer announced his retirement from test-cricket. They also did a photo-shoot while launching a salon in Bandra, Mumbai. The duo also shares a passion for bikes.

Currently, John is shooting for the sequel of his 2011 film ‘Force’ in Budhapest, Hungary. The actor would be taking some time off to shoot for his portion in ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

Sushant who plays the title role is preparing to play ‘captain cool’. According to the ‘Kai Po Che!’ actor, he accepted the role primarily because he has been a cricket fan since childhood.

The release date of the movie has not been announced yet, but it will surely give a glimpse of the real life story of the amazing friends on-screen.
