Akshay out, John Abraham to play a blind man in ‘Aankhen 2’


Bollywood hunk John Abrahamn has yet again replaced Akshay Kumar in Gaurang Doshi's 2002 hit film, ‘Aankhen 2’. First John replaced Akshay in ‘Welcome Back’ then ‘Hera Pheri 3’ and now in the second installment of ‘Aankhen’. It is believed that John will be playing a blind man in the sequel.

Apart from the lead actors, there is replacement of director also. The original film was directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and now he will be replaced by Anees Bazmee. Revealing the story of the sequel, Anees said that the sequel will start from where the prequel ended.

Based on the Gujarati play 'Andhalo Pato’, ‘Aankhen’ is the story of three blind men, trained to rob a bank. Amitabh Bachchan plays the baddie and he is the mastermind behind the entire robbery. Sushmita Sen played an important role in the film. She was forced to train the three blind men to commit the crime neatly.

"Part two will start from where Part one left off Amitabh Bachchan getting released from jail and recruiting three new blind men, one of whom is John Abraham," reveals Anees.

However, the second installment will again see Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of a baddie. John will be playing one of the blind men and other two actors are yet to be finalized. It is also being said that Anil Kapoor too has been roped in to play a prominent role in the film. However, the details of the star casts are yet to be finalized.

Akshay Kumar and Arjun Kapoor won't be in the second installment, their journey having ended with the prequel. Anees Bazmee said Big B is the soul of the film and he will be back.

‘Aankhen 2’  is slated to go on floor in May.
