John Abraham-starrer ‘Welcome Back’ to finally release on September 4

The sequel to 2007 rib-tickler ‘Welcome Back’ is finally set to hit the silver screen on September 4 after encountering repeated delays in the last few months. Actors Anil Kapoor and John Abraham took to twitter to share the news.

"Welcome Back releases 4th September! Watch this space for more. @ErosNow," John tweeted on Tuesday, June 30.

Anil, who was also a part of the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer prequel ‘Welcome’, posted, "We're all set to tickle your funny bones on the 4th of Sept. Get set for hilarity with #WelcomeBack @ErosNow."

‘Welcome Back’, which was originally scheduled to release on December 2014 along with Aamir Khan starrer ‘PK’ was pushed ahead to May 2015. The date was again postponed to July 2015 due to delay in shooting. The makers have now decided to release it in September.

While the ‘Dostana’ actor is stepping into the shoes of Akshay, Shruti Hassan is replacing Katrina. Anil, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal are reprising their roles from the original.

Actors Nasseruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Shiney Ahuja have also been roped in as new additions to the sequel.

‘Welcome Back’ will be directed by Anees Bazmee who directed the prequel, which also starred Mallika Sherawat. Feroz Khan had made his last film appearance in the 2007 laugh riot while Sunil Shetty made a guest appearance and Malaika Arora Khan did an item number.
