John Abraham replaces Aamir Khan in ‘Sarfarosh 2’

John Abraham, who is looking forward to his next release ‘Satyamev Jayate’ has bagged a promising project. The actor will step into Aamir Khan’s shoes in ‘Sarfarosh 2’. The action-drama will be jointly co-produced by director John Mathew Matthan and John Abraham.

In an interview with PTI, Abraham confirms the news, "John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script but yes it's happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after seeing 'Sarfarosh' and said 'Man what a film'."

When asked if he is worried about stepping into Aamir’s shoes, Abraham said, "I'm in fact very excited. I love Aamir Khan, I'm his big fan. It's a challenge but it's a different character, different story but the ethos is the same. It's going to be very exciting."

In ‘Sarfarosh’, Aamir Khan plays a honest police officer who risks his life and family to stop cross-border terrorism. The film went on to win the National Film Award. Apart from Aamir, the film also starred Sonali Bendre and Naseeruddin Shah.

The actor has host of movies lined up for release, ‘Satyamev Jayate’ releasing on August 15, including ‘Batla House’ and ‘RAW: Romeo Akbar Walter’.

"'Batla House' will be the most explosive film you've seen. It'll show how polarised the world is and it's straight in its face. If we accept 'Batla House' it'll be the most successful film," he says.
