John Abraham injures his knee while shooting for ‘Force 2’

Bollywood actor John Abraham who is in Budapest shooting for the action thriller ‘Force 2’ has injured his knee while shooting for an action sequence. The actor who underwent a minor surgery on his right knee today said that he was fine and recuperating in a hospital.

The ‘Dhoom’ actor posted a picture of him with thumbs-up sign at a hospital bed on Facebook and wrote, “Thank you for all the well wishes! Getting better every day and will be back to the set soon hopefully!”

The cast and crew of the second instalment of the 2011 film ‘Force’ are on a 50-day shooting schedule in the Hungarian capital. The film being directed by Abhinay Deo has some high-octane action stunts.

‘Force 2’ producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah who had also produced the movie’s prequel told a leading daily, “We were shooting for an action sequence, which required John to break open a door. He managed to do so but injured his knee as he pushed it too hard in the process. None of us ever imagined that something like this could happen.”

John was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors started the treatment by removing the blood clots that he had developed and advised John bed rest for at least three days. The incident happened a few days ago.

However, the 42-year-old actor insisted on continuing with the shoot which made things worse as the pain resurfaced. The wound deepened and John had to undergo a minor surgery following which he was asked to take rest for almost a week.

A major chunk of the film is being shot in Budapest. Vipul has said that almost 80 per cent of the action scenes have been completed. Although John has been insisting that they continue filming, the makers want him to rest for now. The team has decided to wrap-up the dialogue shots in the meantime, and will be back in India later this month.

As for the remaining 20 per cent, the producer said they will return to the location with a smaller unit later on to finish the remaining action sequences.

‘Force 2’ which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Adil Hussain and Tahir Raj Bhasin is expected to release by the first half of 2016.
