John Abraham makes singing debut with ‘Force 2’

John Abraham seems to have joined the bandwagon of actors who have lent their vocals to songs in their films. The Bollywood hunk would be heard in a song titled ‘Rang Laal’ in his upcoming flick ‘Force 2’.

The trailer of the film released last month and the action thriller is dedicated to the unsung heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country. The makers have shot a special track ‘Rang Laal’ as a tribute to the Indian spirit.

The song has been mainly sung by Dev Negi, but it is peppered with dialogues in the voice of John. The leading lady of the film, Sonakshi Sinha is also a part of the track. Sonakshi has also sung a track in her previous flim ‘Akira’.

"The song reflects the general state of mind in the country - when we're attacked, we will strike back. It has been sung by a young singer named Dev Negi and features dialogues by John," producer Vipul Shah said in a statement.

He also added that the number was conceptualised by director Abhinay Deo and will be part of the film's narrative.

"After we finished shooting the film, we wanted to do something more to convey its spirit but in a unique way. We shot the song on a set in Mumbai. Abhinay, with his experience as an ad filmmaker, has made beautiful use of the colour red in the visuals," Vipul added.

The producer said that John and the director have spent much time on the track to come up with the right tune, for which they had rehearsed for hours before giving the final shot.

‘Force 2’ is a sequel to the 2011 film ‘Force’ that featured Genelia D'Souza and Vidyut Jamwal besides John. The sequel stars Tahir Raj Bhasin of ‘Mardaani’ fame as the main villain.

The film is slated to release on November 18.
