Jio ambassador Shah Rukh Khan hits out at trolls calling

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was targeted on social media after being appointed the brand ambassador of Reliance Jio, hit back at the trolls with an apt reply.

Some sections of twitterati criticised him, questioning his patriotism and calling him a traitor. King Khan took to his Twitter and reminded his haters that he is the son of a freedom fighter and married to a Punjabi Hindu woman.

"I follow my Freedom Fighter father's advice 'quieter u bcome the more u r able 2 hear'. Good he's no more, he'd be sad 2 hear wot sum ppl say," the actor wrote on the micro-blogging site in the wake of the negative comments.

Shah Rukh was launched as the face of Mukesh Ambani’s new 4G internet, mobile telephony service Jio. Soon after, trolls addressed the Reliance Industries Limited chairman to remove the actor as Jio brand ambassador. They were of the opinion that Shah Rukh was anti-national and pro-Pakistan, as he had spoken out about India becoming extremely intolerant, last November. They started buzzing #JioRemoveSRK on Twitter.

Shah Rukh is the son of Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, an Indian freedom fighter who was active in the Peshawar region. After the India-Pakistan partition, he moved to New Delhi in 1948. He died of cancer in 1981. Shah Rukh is married to his college sweetheart Gauri Chibber, a Hindu Brahmin.

On the work front, Shah Rukh is shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘The Ring’ in Europe. He will be next seen in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’ alongside Alia Bhatt.
