Jacqueline Fernandez recreates Madhuri Dixit’s 'Ek Do Teen' for 'Baaghi 2'

The iconic dance number ‘Ek To Teen’ grooved by Madhuri Dixit in ‘Tezaab’ was recreated by Jacqueline Fernandez and designer Manish Malhotra for ‘Baaghi 2’ and the first look of the song and Jacqueline’s look was unveiled today. Dressed in a skimpy lehenga choli, Jacqueline grooved to ‘Ek Do Teen’.

The 25-second teaser of the song opens with lines of the song, 1, 2, 3... as crowd roar: Mohini, Mohini. As camera follows Jacqueline from behind, she does a dance move and crowd can’t stop cheering.

Jacqueline’s costume was designer Manish Malhotra, keeping in mind Madhuri’s look.

In the picture, Jacqueline can be seen sitting with one hand over her forehead as the other arm is stretched away from her body.

On the question of recreating a song so iconic, Bollywood Life quoted the actor as saying, “That was my first stress, that how can we recreate something so iconic, like is it even possible? It made it lot easier for me when I understood that it is not possible. We’re not trying to match up to what Madhuri Dixit did. We are not trying to match up to what Saroj (Khan) ji did. We are honestly fans, big, big fans of their work. This is honestly, more than anything, a tribute to an amazing and iconic number that they gave to us.”

"I can't wait for Madhuri ma'am to watch the song. It is my tribute to her. Her performance in the original is unmatchable. Forget me, no one can ever come close to her," Jacqueline said in a statement.

‘Baaghi 2’ stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead roles and the film has been helmed by Ahmed Khan. The film releases on March 30.
