Jackie Shroff, Neena Gupta’s ‘Khujli’ unveils middle-aged couple's sex desire

Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff have teamed up on screen for the first time in a short film titled ‘Khujli’. Written and directed by Sonam Nair, it is a light-hearted film that revolves around a couple who explores their secret desires and hidden fantasies, after 25 years of marriage.

Neena plays the role of Roopmati who explains to her husband, played by Jackie, her understanding of BDSM that she has learnt from the book ’50 Shades of Grey’. It happens after Jackie’s character, who suffers from the problem of itching, discovers bondage cuffs in his son’s room when he goes there searching for lotion. Roopmati excitedly tells husband in detail about the contents of the book and how people get kinky. The middle-aged couple then decide to try it out for themselves and explore their sexual fantasies in bedroom. Things turn out funny but the couple manages to find a newer person in each other.

Speaking about the film, Jackie said in a statement, “‘Khujli’ is a light-hearted film. I loved the story and the way Sonam Nair narrated it. I really enjoyed working with the team of TTT (YouTube channel Terribly Tiny Talkies, which released the short film).” Talking about the steamy scenes, the actor added on a funny note, “When your director holds a whip in her hands, it becomes easy for an actor to be kinky.”

Neena Gupta, who has worked in critically acclaimed films like 'Gumrah', 'Saans', 'Ladies Special' etc, said, “Shooting for ‘Khujli’ was as much fun as reading its script. When actors have enjoyed the process of doing the film so much, I am sure the audience would enjoy it too. It was a great experience.”
