Jackie Chan’s ardent fan Shilpa Shetty touches his feet

Hollywood star Jackie Chan, who arrived in Mumbai yesterday morning (Jan 23), attended a press conference in the evening to promote Indo-Chinese joint production ‘Kung Fu Yoga’. His Indian co-stars Sonu Sood, Amyra Dastur and Disha Patani were also present at the event.

Shilpa Shetty too made a surprise entry at the promotional event, and touched the feet of the 62-year-old ‘Rush Hour’ actor. Shilpa declared that she was an ardent fan of the International action star, and had learnt karate only because of Jackie Chan.

"I am not here as Shilpa Shetty the actor or Yoga enthusiast. I am here as an ardent and crazy fan of Jackie Chan. I believe, in life if you think about something from heart it does manifest. I became an actor due to him. I have never been star struck in my life but only ... Jackie Chan. [I] Touched his feet out of respect," Shilpa told reporters at the event.

Praising the Chinese origin star, the ‘Dhadkan’ actress said, “He is a legendary and biggest action star. He is doing action since 56 years and it's amazing. He made all the difficult stunts look easy due to his hard work." Shilpa added that the best part about Jackie Chan’s films is that there is not much blood in the action sequences.

Jackie Chan was witty at his best and left audience splits at the promotional event, and all of them, including Shilpa, struck Kung Fu poses. Chan said that it was fun surrounded by Indians on the film sets and he would love to make a Kung Fu Yoga franchise. He also revealed that Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were his favourite Bollywood actors.

Directed by Stanley Tong, ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ will showcase the art and culture of both India and China, and also stars Chinese actors Eric Tsang and Aarif Rahman. The film is slated to hit screens on February 3.
