Jackie Chan to bond with Salman Khan over dinner in Mumbai
Hollywood star Jackie Chan, who arrives in Mumbai on Monday to promote ‘Kung Fu Yoga’, will also bond with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Actor-producer Sonu Sood, who also features in the Indo-Chinese joint venture, has arranged the between his ‘Dabangg’ co-star and Jackie.
Jackie, along with Amyra Dastur and Disha Patani, who were on a promotional tour in Malaysia, will be received at Mumbai airport by Sonu, who is also the distributor of the action-comedy. Jackie will be putting up at JW Marriott during his day long visit, where he will catch up with Salman.
A report in DNA quoted a source as saying, “Jackie’s co-star Sonu Sood is close to Salman (they worked together in Dabangg) and it was he who arranged for this meeting between the two stars. Jackie will have a press conference in the afternoon and host a small, intimate dinner for some select people.”
“He won’t have time to meet many people, but he is keen on meeting Salman during his stay here. Sonu has spoken a lot about Salman’s superstar status in India and his charity work and the action star expressed a desire to meet him. Though Salman is shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’, he plans to meet Jackie at an Asian bar and restaurant at JW Marriott, where the star is staying,” the source added.
Jackie will be flying back to Hong Kong the next day.
Directed by Stanley Tong, ‘Kung Fu Yoga’ also stars Chinese actors Eric Tsang and Aarif Rahman. The movie is the first of the three-film agreement between India and China that was signed when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited China in May, 2015.
‘Kung Fu Yoga’ was earlier slated to hit screens on the occasion of Chinese New Year, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ on January 25. But the makers, eventually, pushed the release date to February 3. The film will release in India in Tamil and Telugu as well, besides Hindi and English.
