It’s official: Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez to star in ‘Race 3'

The third instalment of the successful franchise ‘Race’ will be made with Salman Khan as the lead hero. Sallu will replace Saif Ali Khan to play the male lead. The ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor will romance Jacqueline Fernandez in Remo D’ Souza’s upcoming film ‘Race 3’.  Jacqueline will step into Katrina Kaif’s shoes.

Famous journalist, Subhash K Jha told a leading web portal, ''There was a time when Jacqueline Fernandez saw Katrina Kaif as a kind of role-model.''

''Jacqueline Fernandez in recent times has been making every effort to get into Salman's good books.''

Jacqueline and Salman together worked in the super-hit film, ‘Kick’ and now ‘Race 3’ will be their second collaboration.

Producer Ramesh Taurani earlier revealed that instead of Saif Ali Khan, it will be Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Race 3.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming slice-of-life film Chef, Saif shared with the mediapersons that he hasn’t been approached for Race 3 and he believes no one is better than Salman Khan to lead the third installment.

“Ramesh ji told me about this last year that he wants to make Race 3 but as a new movie with a new cast. We spoke about it and I love Ramesh ji. Who better than Salman Khan for this? I wish both of them luck. But I haven’t been approached,” Saif Ali Khan said.

Producer Taurani confirmed about the casting and said that the superstar is quite excited to be part of the action drama.

"The story of 'Race 3' is bigger. At the moment Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez are finalised. We are discussing with Salman as to how to go forward (for the film) and we are getting positive feedback from him, he is excited about it (film). This film will be a multistarrer. It will have a bigger star cast than 'Race 2'," Taurani told

The film will star Jacqueline Fernandez opposite Salman and will be directed by Remo D’Souza.
