It’s my face, my body: Shruti Haasan slams body shamers

Bollywood actress Shruti Haasan was trolled for gaining weight for her upcoming film but the actress shut the mouth of the trolls who targeted her for gaining weight and for her alleged lip-job.

However, during one of the promotional interviews, the actress lashes out at the haters and said she is least bothered about what people write about her because it is her body and she can do whatever she wants.

"It’s my face, my body. What I do with it is nobody’s business. What people write about me on social media does not bother me. I am not answerable to anyone. Looking good is part of our job, but the unnecessary chatter about weight must be filtered. Maintaining an ‘acceptable’ figure for an actress is impossible. We are human. We gain and lose weight for roles and sometimes naturally too.”

Shruti Haasan recently made headlines for launching the multi-crore budget movie, ‘Sanghamitra’ at Cannes film fest and later opting out of it.

She issued an official statement which reads, "Shruti has, unfortunately, had to take a call not to be part of Sangamithra. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over 2 years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. She hired and started training with one of best combat trainers April onwards to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script nor a proper date calendar. She is currently caught up with promoting her Hindi film Behen Hogi Teri, prep for Sabash Naidu and her musical associations."

She is gearing up for the release of ‘Behen Hogi Teri’.
