‘Ishaqzaade’ stars Arjun, Parineeti reunite for Dibakar Banerjee’s film

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, who won hearts with their fiery chemistry in Yash Raj Films’ 2012 action-romance ‘Ishaqzaade’, will be reuniting on the silver screen after a gap of five years. The duo will be teaming up for Dibakar Benerjee’s upcoming project.

According to reports, the project, said to be another romantic-action movie, was in the pipe for over six months. Both Arjun and Parineeti had signed the film in January, but have successfully kept it under wraps.

Arjun and Dibakar had a meeting for the first narration in November last year and the ‘Half Girlfriend’ actor liked the script. However, he didn’t immediately sign the film. “Arjun had loved the script and given his nod but had not signed on the dotted line. Dibakar was still working on the final draft and wanted Parineeti as the leading lady. By January, both the actors were onboard,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source close to the developments as saying.

According to reports, the film will have Arjun as a Haryanvi police officer, but Parineeti’s character has not been revealed yet. It is said to be a dark and gritty action-romance set in North India. Preparations for the film will begin next month and it will hit floors in coming two months.

While Arjun made his debut with ‘Ishaqzaade’, it was Parineeti’s second film, but first one as leading lady. Her debut film was ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, in which she played a supporting role.

Arjun and Parineeti’s not only won the audience’s hearts, but were also appreciated by critics. The ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ actress had even won a special mention for her role in the film at the 60th National Film Awards.

Meanwhile, Arjun will be next seen in a double role in Anees Bazmee's 'Mubarakan' alongside his uncle Anil Kapoor.
