Is Amitabh Bachchan unhappy with ‘Wazir’?

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan who is starring in soon-to-release ‘Wazir’ alongside Farhan Akhtar, is keeping away from the film’s promotional campaigns. The veteran actor missed the trailer launch in November, neither was he present during the release of a song, recently.

According to reports, Big B who is currently shooting in Kolkata for ‘Te3N’ alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, will not be a part of any pre-release marketing activity of the action thriller.

Quoting sources close to the project, a Midday report claimed that the real reason behind Amitabh Bachchan not appearing for the film’s promotions was because he is unhappy that Farhan has been given more prominence in the film. He therefore, "did not bother to manage his dates" for the promotional campaign.

The film’s director Bejoy Nambiar, however, said that Big B went out of his way to help during the post-production stage and despite his hectic schedule, recorded a new track with Farhan Akhtar. He further added that if the dates had worked out, Amitabh Bachchan would have definitely made himself available for every promotional activity.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra echoed the director and said, "He was there for the first trailer launch in June and just spent a full day on December 13 singing the friendship song for promotions."

During the second trailer launch, the ‘Piku’ actor was shooting for his television show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ while he was busy in Kolkata with Sujoy Ghosh’s production when the song was launched earlier this month. In the meantime, Farhan has been attending the promotional events and doing media interactions alone.

‘Wazir’ which also stars Aditi Rai Hyadri, Neil Nitin Mukesh, John Abraham and Prakash Raj in important roles, is set to hit screens on January 8, 2016.
