'Inkaar' earns 6.35 crore in the opening weekend

Sudhir Mishra’s latest offering ‘Inkaar’ had a dull start at the box-office. Released on 18th January, the film is expected to speed up in the coming days but it could not make to a great opening weekend. The film had earned Rs. 1.65 crore on the first day, and slowly made Rs. 6.35 crore over the weekend, tweeted Taran Adarsh, trade analyst. The breakup goes something like this: Fri 1.75 cr, Sat 2.10 cr, Sun 2.50 cr.

Two more releases like Mumbai Mirror and Bandook also had a dull opening. The last week release Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mondola’ also failed to score high at the box-office and could make only Rs. 38.10 crore nett.

Despite casting two popular stars, Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh, 'Inkaar’ received mixed reviews from critics. The film is based on sexual harassment at the work place.

Arjun Rampal plays a CEO of an ad agency and Chitrangada a budding copywriter. The plot was realistic but unfortunately audience showed thump down to the film.
