Indu Sarkar song ‘Ye Awaaz Hai’ describes the transformation of Kirti Kulhari

National Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film ‘Indu Sarkar’ has released a new song titled ‘Ye Awaaz Hai’. It is a soft track that describes the exceptional journey of the lead character played by Kirti Kulhari. It encapsulates her transformation from a love-struck girl to a fiery woman.

The video shows Kriti, who plays a shy poetess, falling in love with a man, played by Tota Roy Chowdhury, who supports the 1975 Emergency declared by then prime minister Indira Gandhi. She is against the police atrocities in the name of Emergency and their disagreements destroys their relationship.

The beautiful song has been rendered in the melodious vocals of Monali Thakur. It has been composed by Anu Malik, while the sensitive lyrics have been penned by Puneet Sharma.

‘Indu Sarkar’ also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh in the role of late politician Sanjay Gandhi and Supriya Vinod as slain prime minister Indira Gandhi. Anupam Kher also plays a pivotal role. The politically charged movie that revolves around Kriti’s character’s revolt against the system during the emergency, is set to hit screens on July 28.

Meanwhile, ‘Indu Sarkar’ has started giving jitters to politicians of the Congress Party with youth leader Haseeb Ahmad announcing on Twitter, “Blacken Indu Sarkar director Madhur Bhandrakar’s face and win Rs 1 lakh (sic).” Congress parliamentarian Jyotiraditya Scindia had also expressed strong reservations against the film, saying that it is a propaganda film for the ruling party BJP. Maharashtra Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam demanded a viewing of ‘Indu Sarkar’ before it is certified.
