Indian beauties who conquered the world
Though we have been recently disappointed by the dismal performance of India’s official entrant to the Miss Universe contest, Vasuki Sunkavalli, India has a glorious past of the achievements in the international beauty pageants. The amazingly beautiful and sensuous Indian beauty queens like Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, and Lara Dutta etc. heralded an era that can be considered golden for Indian presence in the international modelling circuit. Though that wonderful era seems difficult to return, we can have a look at some of the Indian ladies who conquered the world with their beauty and brains.
Reita Faria
The winning of an international beauty pageant by Rita Faria was the glorious incident with which India showed its credibility in the arena to the world. She won the Miss World pageant in the year 1966.But keeping her words and stunning the fashion world she eventually chose medical profession for her to pursue.
Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman proved herself the face of classic Indian beauty to the world when she won the Miss Asia Pacific title in the year of 1970. She was the first Indian to achieve that feat. Prior to that she was the runner up for Miss India beauty contest. Shortly she was flooded with offers from Bollywood and went on to become a most sought after star in the Indian movie industry.
This was another sensational first for India. She was the woman who brought home the most coveted beauty pageant of the world, the Miss Universe title. She achieved the feat in the year of 1994. Shortly after she too joined Bollywood where she is known for her personality and tends to deliver challenging and bold roles.
Aishwarya Rai
She is considered the most beautiful woman of the world by many and has been the most famed beauty queen of India. She won the coveted title of Miss World the same year when Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe. She has been a top notch actress of Bollywood.
Diana Hayden was the Indian beauty who repeated the success story of Indian beauties for the third time in the year 1997. She was not successful in her Bollywood career and left it after a horrible attempt.
Lara Dutta was the second woman who made India proud by bringing back the most coveted Miss Universe title for the second time in the year 2000, after Sushmita Sen. She got married recently after pursuing a successful movie career.
