Ileana D’Cruz reveals being victim of eve-teasing, harassment
A day after the second World Congress against Sexual Exploitation of Women and Girls ended in New Delhi on Tuesday, Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz today revealed being a victim of eve-teasing and harassment. She described it as a “traumatic” experience.
The ‘Rustom’ actress shared a link of an open letter, ‘I’m Leaking My Ex’s Dirty Messages And Voice Notes Because He’s Left Me No Choice’, written by a woman who was being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend. “Absolutely despicable piece of crap! So proud of this girl who exposed this swine! Whoever you are lady #mad respect,” Ileana tweeted with the link.
Ileana followed with another tweet describing her personal experience and wrote, “I've been a victim of eve teasing and harassment and it's traumatic. I'm lucky I have beautiful parents who gave me strength when I needed it.”
“Sorry for the rant. This infuriates me. This was the second part to the story. Absolutely no bloody excuse for this!” the actress posted with the second part of the article.
Previously, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had shared the same article, questioning ‘Why is this man not exposed?’
Earlier, Sonam Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, Kangana Ranaut and even veteran actress Rekhan opened up on being sexually abused. And most recently, Hollywood actress Ashley Judd also revealed being molested at the age of seven and raped twice when she was 14, while speaking at a session of the recently-held congress in Delhi.
Ileana is dating Australian photographer Andrew Kneebone, and recently she grabbed headlines after she posed nude in the bathtub for a series of portraits by boyfriend.
The actress is currently shooting for ‘Mubarakan’, which stars Arjun Kapoor and his real-life uncle Anil Kapoor, and Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty, for whom it is her second film after 2015 ‘Hero’. Ileana will also be seen in Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Baadshaho’, which is scheduled to release in September.
