IIFA to showcase ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ on June 6


The team of upcoming bollywood movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ is excited as their film is going to be screened at the 16th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Malaysia on June 6.

Directeded by Zoya Akhtar, the film is a multi-starrer family drama about a dysfunctional Punjabi family. It has an ensemble star cast of Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma and Rahul Bose. The film is co-produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Dil Dhadakne Do is slated to release worldwide on June 5, just a day ahead of its screening in the South Asian nation. The film will be screened in the IIFA Weekend section of the three-day extravaganza, starting from June 5, according to agency reports.

Anil Kapoor, who has been a part of the award ceremony right from its inception in 2000, is particularly thrilled about it. “I am in Bollywood from last 38 years and there are very few films where everything goes right,” the 58-year-old actor said.

The ‘Ram Lakhan’ actor who has done his trademark dance step in the popular ‘Galla Goodiyaan’ song of the film, said he was lucky to have got the opportunity to work with wonderful producers, director, technician and background stars. “All of us have created a gem together and it will make us proud to be Indians when it will have its screening at the awards function,” the actor said, adding that it would be the first screening of the film as they were not having any screening in Mumbai.

Anil who has been a part of the event from the last 15 years said attending the function was like meeting his brother, sister, wife or daughter.

IIFA is being held in Malaysia for the second time, after the ceremony was held in the beautiful nation in 2002. The 15th IIFA Awards event was held Tampa Bay Area, Florida USA.

The Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jacqueline Fernandes are expected to attend the festival among others. Jacqueline, Aditi Rao Hydari, Lisa Hayden will also take the IIFA Rocks stage for some smashing performances.
