IIFA awards 2018: Rani Mukherji, Manoj Bajpayee, ‘Sanju’ top winners
Rani Mukherji walked away with the best actress award for ‘Hichki’ and Manoj Bajpayee bagged the best actor award for upcoming film, ‘Gali Guleiya’ at the Indian International Film Festival, 2018, Melbourne. Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjuay Dutt ‘Sanju’ won the best film award while Vicky Kaushal won the best supporting actor award for the same film.
Veteran actress Simi Garewal handed over the best actor award to Rani Mukherji. In her winning speech, Rani thanked her fans for all the love and appreciation.
The jury members for the fest, launched by Mitu Bhowmick Lange, included Simi Garewal, Sue Maslin, Jill Bilcock, Nikkhil Advani and Geoffrey Wright.
Wright said that he was highly impressed by the variety that Indian cinema currently has on offer. He said he feels that “perhaps it has gone from recreation to being serious cinema”.
The fest will end on August 22.
